HEART PRAIRIE: Sec.29, 30, Town of La Grange. Named by James Holden in 1837 because of it's shape. HOLDEN'S LAKE Sec. 5, 6, Town of Sugar Creek, lake in Sugar Creek Township, probably named after James Holden, an early settler. Presently named North Lake. James Holden made the first lawful claim to land within the town, a square-mile on Heart Prairie, early in 1837.
