Elizabeth (Brainard) Abell, 80 of Highland Street, West Hartford, widow of F. Russell Abell, died Sept. 8, 1998 in West Hartford. Born Jan. 19, 1918 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, daughter of the late Chester and Gladys (Mallard) Brainard, she was a resident of West Hartford since 1986. She was employed by Dexter Corp. and later as an executive secretary for the former Connecticut Bank & Trust Co. for 22 years retiring several years ago. She was predeceased by a brother, Chester Brainard Jr. and is survived by several cousins.
