"Jack Alan Miller
1942-2009

Those we hold closest to our hearts never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they have shared and the love they brought into our lives. -Author Unknown

Reflections

Jack Alan Miller (66) slipped away peacefully from heart disease on Easter Sunday. Born to parents Jeannette and Ronald Miller of Long Beach, Jack attended local schools including L.B.C.C. When Jack was born his father was adamant that his son would be named Jack. Ronald claimed that he had never met a man named Jack that he didn't like. His son lived up to his father's expectation.

Jack Miller was loved by all for his impish and charismatic personality. After serving three years in the U.S. Army (mostly in Germany), Jack returned to Southern California to begin a 30 year career in the travel and hotel business. While working for the Western International Hotels in Mazatlan, Mexico he met the beautiful Ana Alicia Arroyo who became his loving and caring wife for 35 years.

Jack loved driving. Over the years he had numerous cars, boats, a motor home, and several motor cycles. In addition, Jack was an avid reader and he loved to share his humor over the internet with friends and family. Serving as a surrogate father for his nine nieces and nephews, Jack spoke with them often, offering a listening ear and advice when asked for.

Having met his loving wife Ana Alicia in Mexico, Jack always loved Mexico, thus half of his remains will be interred in Mazatlan among the people he loved. Also, Jack was always at peace in Pal Springs. His final remains will be laid to rest in the Palm Springs Cemetery within a stones throw of his favorite singing artist Frank Sinatra and overlooking the San Jacinto Mountains he loved so much. Frank's headstone reads, "the best is yet to come" ... such may be the same for the very loved Jack Miller."

Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy. -Anonymous
