Service Today for Claude G. Gore, 74
Funeral service for Claude G. Gore, a 74-year-old farmer who suffered a fatal heart attack Thursday at his home, R.R. 2 Easton, will be at 2 o'clock this (Sunday) afternoon at the Stanton Chapel at Atchison. Burial will be St. John's Church cemetery.
Coroner Charles Larkin said yesterday an autopsy disclosed the cause of death as a heart ailent. He had been under treatment of an Atchison physician for treatment of the disease, Larkin said.
He and Scott Millroy of Winchester had been grinding corn at the Gore home. As Millroy started to drive away in his truck, he said he heard the elderly man shout. Millroy halted his truck, he told Larkin, and found Mr. Gore had collapsed.
A son of William and Bell Hutcherson Gore, Claude G. Gore was born March 9, 1880, at Logan, Illinois. He was reared in Illinois and came to the Potter community in 1909.
February 22, 1911 he was united in marriage to Miss Maria Lohman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Lohman, at the Lohman home near Potter. His bride's sister, Clara, was married to John Toedter in a double ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. Gore began housekeeping on the present family farm. She died in 1938.
Surviving Mr. Gore are two daughters, Miss Mable Gore of the home, and Mrs. Charles R. Bruel, Atchison; a son, David C. Gore, San Francisco; two brothers, William Gore, Marshall, Ill., and Charles Gore, Paris, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Effie Hammond, Atchison; and three granddaughters, Janice, Charlene and Barbara Kay Bruel of Atchison.
