Mrs. Sophia M. Blankenship, 85, Holton, died Thursday at her home in Holton where she had lived the last seven years after moving there from Leavenworth.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran church, Holton, with the Rev. Arnold E. Oldehoeft, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Potter cemetery south of Atchison. Mercer Funeral Home, Holton, is ln charge of arrangements.
Born Aug. 11, 1888, in Leavenworth county, Mrs. Blankenship was a daughter of the late William and Wllhelmlne Moeller Meinert. She and Thomas J. Blankenship were married Oct. 30, 1908, and lived most of their lives in Leavenworth. He died March 4, 1967.
She is survived by two sons, Irwin T. Blankenship, Holton, and Tom B. Blankenship, Baldwin; three daughters, Mrs. Nina Adams, Huntington Beach, Calif., Mrs. Doris Law, Holton, and Mrs. Betty Schott, Irvine, Calil.; three brothers, Ed Meinert, Otto Melnert and Albert Melnert, all of Easton; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A son, Leo Blankenship preceded her in death.
