OTTIS HALL
Ottis Hall,74 of Route 3 Mars Hill died Friday in a Asheville hospital after a long illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Madison County, he was a retired farmer and a member of Odd Fellows in Flag Pond, Tenn.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Letha Hensley Hall; three daughters, Mrs. Savada Fender and Mrs. Juda Edwards of Weaverville and Mrs. Hazel Jane Cheek of Virginia Beach, Va.; five sons, Don Edwin deceased, Vaughn and Melvin Hall of Spartanburg, SC. Edward Hall of Mars Hill and Gary Hall of New Bern, NC.; four sisters, Mrs. Iris Wyatt of Mars Hill, Mrs. Atha Lewis of Hampton Va., Mrs. Vinnie Shelton of Powhatan, Va., and Mrs. Myrtle Hamlin of Weaverville.; a brother, Oliver Hall of Mars Hill; 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Laurel Bend Baptist Church, of which he was a member and chairman of the deacon board. The Revs. Loyd Ponder and Troy Martin will officiate. Burial will be in the Upper Laurel Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Arrington, Chalmers Whitt, Ronnie Cartrett, Jimmy Woody, Dedrick , Maynard and Claude Cody and Litton Shook.
The family will recieve friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Capps Funeral Home, where the body will remain untill placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.

Ottis and Letha was married: July 7, 1923 at Marshall, North Carolina. Mr. Walter Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Willie Hensley was present at their wedding.
