Bernhard, "Ben" Algard, 64, 1134 Yellowstone, died early today at St. Anthony community Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 17, 1905 at Grey Cliff, Mont., to Albert and Gemalia Egeland Algard.
He married Katherine Greefe, May 11, 1929 at Ottertail, Minn. The family lived at Sheridan, Wyo. for 23 years, where he was employed as an engineer. They later lived at Billings, Mont. for two years, where he worked as maintenance engineer at the Deaconess Hospital. They moved to Pocatello four years ago. He was employed at the St. Anthony Community Hospital as a maintenance engineer.
His hobbies were fishing.
Mr. Algard was a veteran of World War II, serving as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived besides his widow, by a son, Lorenz Algard, Portland, Ore., a daughter, Mrs. Clarence W. (Marilyn) Koch, Pocatello, three brothers, Arthur Algard and Sam Algard, both of Big Timber, Mont., and Hans Algard, Helena, Mont.; six sisters, Mrs. Gladys Aalgaard; Gudrun Hoiland and Marie Algard, all of Big Timber, Mont., Esther Boe, Lavina, Mont., Ruth Mauer and Olga Perschillo, both of Billings, Mont., his stepfather, Gust Stenberg, Big Timber, Mont.; and eight grandchildren.
He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post.
Funeral Services are under the direction of the Henderson Funeral Home.
