"William L. Dinsmore, 64, of the Batestown area, died Friday, September 4, 1987, in Danville, Illinois. He was born February 20, 1923, in Marshall, the son of John William and C. Marguerite Noland Dinsmore. He married Audre Phyllis Kuhnert, who died in 1946. He married Barbara M. Foehrer in 1951, in Covington, and she survives.

He graduated from Perrysville High School in 1942 and served 2 years in the U.S. Air Force with the 449th Bomb, Group-716th Bomb Squadron, in Italy. He was in charge of painting mascot names on bombers.

He worked part-time as a lieutenant with the Vermilion County Sheriff Assistance Patrol from 1960 to 1975. He was a member of the Danville American Legion Post 210, where he served as a member of the Rainbow Color Guard. He was a past master in 1979 of Further Light Masonic Lodge 130. He was a member of Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Danville, where he had served as a stage manager and was coroneted a 33rd degree in Boston in 1984. He was a former member of the Gao Gratto Revelers. He was agent for the crippled children's program with the Eastern Illinois Shrine Club and member of Ansar Shrine of Springfield. He was an avid stock car racing fan and enjoyed fishing. He was a former Republican precinct committeeman.

Surviving, besides his wife, are a daughter, Mrs. Jackie (Julia Lynn) Harrold, Georgetown, Illinois; a brother, Mark, Covington; two sisters, Mary Virginia Easley, Indianapolis, and Theresa Hall, Scottsdale, Arizona; grandchildren, James, Scott, Misty Rae and Magen Rachel; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pape memorial Home with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Chrisman, Illinois. Those so desiring may contribute in memoriam to the Shriner Crippled Children's Clinic." Star Tribune, September 9, 1987
