South Ogden – "Southern Belle" Reba Elizabeth Judd (91) died December 13, 2009.

Born in Mount Olive, Mississippi on January 15, 1918, she was the 9th child of Omer and Laura Brooks Berry. Reba served in the Coast Guard Reserve in New York City where she met her husband of 60 years, Everett W. Judd. He passed away on September 10, 2005.

As a schoolteacher, long before government programs, she often purchased lunches for her students with special needs. Reba and her family moved from Georgia to Ogden in 1962. She had worked in both the legal and medical professions as a clerical assistant.

She is survived by her children; Mike (Ann) Judd of South Ogden, Anna (Mick) Edwards of Santa Fe, NM, and Phillip (Sharon) Judd of South Ogden, as well as 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Beth (Marvin) Felt.

Reba was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Ogden and especially appreciated her association with fellow member Donna McGill.

Per Reba's request a private service for family will be held at a later date. A special thanks to the professional staff at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living Center in South Ogden for their wonderful care and kindness the past 2 years. Services under the direction of Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th St.

"How fast they leave us, our fellow earth travelers. How quickly they go, our loved ones and friends. Reminding us anew that we are only mere mortals who hung by a thread. We come, stay a while, then leave. The string breaks and like a kite dances away." By Reba E. Judd

Cremation by Leavitt's Mortuary Crematory.
