The following was provided by findagrave volunteer VirginiaSholinSmallwood:
Catherine Asklund was born on Oct 9, 1831 on a farm known as "Nordanå 9" in Alfta parish, Gävleborg, Sweden, a daughter of Pehr Jansson and Karin Ersdotter. Catherine's name in Sweden was Carin Persdotter.
She married a widower, Anders Printz, in Alfta on November 10, 1868. On May 28, 1869, she and her husband, along with his five children, his previous mother-in-law, and his nephew, emigrated from Sweden with the destination of New York. They traveled from there to Illinois, probably around Henry County, where others from Alfta had gone to live.
Once in America, Carin became known as Carrie Printz, taking the name of her husband, as was the custom in this new place. Within a year, she and her husband and his children left Illinois for Sherman, Clay County, Kansas, where they were pioneer farmers and charter members of the Swedish Methodist Church at Clay Center. She and Andrew Printz had two children of their , Alfred Joseph, and Matilda Catherine.
Within a few years, the marriage of Carrie and Andrew soured and they eventually divorced. Her second husband was Andrew Asklund, who seems to have died before 1900. Sometime between 1913 and 1919, she went to live with her daughter, Matilda and her daughter's husband, Thomas Richard Frint. Catherine died May 31, 1919 in Orlando, Orange Co., Florida.
