Enlisted as a Private on 6 Feb 1864.

Married Sarah Ann Schoedler in abt 1866.

The Reading Eagle-Dec 16 1901

Died of gangrene. Age 59 years, 9 months and 13 days.

A native of Kutztown and lived in Reading for 20 years.

A veteran of the Civil War serving in Co. L, 1st Pa. Vol. Cav. He was wounded in the right thigh and made a prisoner, confined for nearly a year in Andersonville, Libby and Florence prisons.

He leaves a widow, Sarah A.; son George S Breneiser; daughter Alice w/o Harry Seidel, both of Reading. Three brothers, Samuel, Daniel and Frederick Breneiser.
