Charles Vernon "Vernon" Hewett was born 15 Feb 1903 in Tyrone, Texas County, Oklahoma; died 11 July 1976 in Big Spring, Howard Co., Texas. He grew up in Oklahoma and New Mexico. He was involved in the construction of the Panama Canal. He married his cousin (daughter of his uncle John Allen Peugh, Find A Grave Memorial# 75566366) Roxie Mae Peugh (1911 - 1989; Find A Grave Memorial# 32613912) in Big Spring, Howard County, Texas 28 Feb 1933. They have six living children. He lived in Big Spring the rest of his life.
Vernon's father was Charles Williamson Hewett (1865 - 1933) - Find A Grave Memorial# 90944341. His mother was Armittie Evergreen (Peugh) Hewett (1878 - 1940) - Find A Grave Memorial# 7038380. Armittie is buried at Mt. Oliver Cemetery, Big Spring, Tx. John, Vernon and Roxie are all buried at Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring, TX.
