‘Jackie" Pool passed away in Klamath Falls on September 3rd 2007 at the age 95. A service of tribute and love will be held Saturday September, 8, 2007 at 11am at Eternal Hills Chapel with interment at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 7, 2007 from 9:00am~5:00pm at Eternal Hills Funeral Home.
Zelma was born October 3, 1911 in Swan Lake Oregon to Perley and Melissa (Payne) Stiles. Zelma grew up in the Klamath Falls area and lived here most of her life. She graduated from Klamath Union High School, then attended Southern Oregon Normal School and obtained her teaching certification and later obtained her masters in Education. She worked as an independent school teacher for rural surrounding areas including one room schools such as Crater Lake, Algoma, Gilchrist and Beatty. She was also a school teacher with the Klamath County Schools District for twenty five years. She retired, as a first grade teacher from Chiloquin Elementary School in 1976.
On June 2, 1934, Zelma married Benjiman G. Pool at his father's house and were married for 51 wonderful years. Zelma was a member of the Chiloquin branch of Eastern Star holding every office with them and was a worthy matron. She enjoyed crocheting, playing the electric organ, logic book puzzles, her pets and always had a wonderful garden. She enjoyed all holidays with her family and kept correspondence with many of her students over the years. She is remembered as being good mom and made life easier for her kids.
She is survived by daughter and her husband Lisa and Carmen Graika, of Pomona KA; daughter Linda Bauman of Klamath Falls; grandchildren Coral, Alisha and Jared, Larisa and David; great-granddaughter Kethry; and numerous family and friends. She was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Frank, Clifford, Carl and sisters Eva, Nora, Norma, Iva and Anna.
