Birth: Dec. 1, 1948
Lombardia, Italy
Death: Jan. 18, 1977
Lazio, Italy

Luciano was born in Nerviano, near Milan, Italy. He was a mildfield football player, famous in the seventies for his success that leaded his team to win the championship. Son of a bricklayer, he started working as an auto-body repairer with his cousin and began playing football very young, as a hobby. From 1967 to 1969 he played in the "Pro Patria" team, where he drew attention to himself for his ability. From 1969 to 1972 he played in the "Foggia" team and in 1972 he finally ended up by playing in the series A team called "Lazio". He was nicknamed "L'angelo biondo", "The blonde angel", because of his hair. Unfortunately, he is also famous for the cause of his death. It is not certain, but it seems that he was accustomed to playing jokes very often and in the night of January 18, 1977 he entered a jewelry store with some friends of him, where one of them had to go for some business. When they entered the store, nearly before night closing time, Luciano decided to play a joke on the owner just on the spot so he covered his face partially and shouted, "Don't move, this is a hold-up!". He had his right hand in his pocket, to pretend having a gun inside. Unfortunately, the owner of the store didn't recognize him and he really had a gun himself because he had been robbed several times already. So he took out his gun and shot him immediately. The shot hit Luciano just in his heart and nothing could be done to save him. He fell on the floor saying, "It was a joke, it was only a joke…". One of his friends asked some policemen to drive them to the nearest hospital soon, but Luciano was unfortunately declared dead on arrival. He left his pregnant wife Cesarina (Francesca is the name of the baby that came to light after some months only) and his son Stefano who was then two years old.
