Alice Taylor was born 23 Jan 1890 in Texas, to Wesley Taylor and Ellen Jackson-Taylor. She married Harvey Johnson, 30 Dec 1904 when she was 14 years old. The 1910 and 1920 Census shows one child born to this union, Harvey Johnson Jr. B-1910. Assuming that Harvey Johnson Sr. died some time before 1930, the census for that year shows Alice is now the wife of J. P. Moore (Jean Pinkney Moore) The children listed on the 1930 census, which includes my mother LaConia Moore; are actually the children born to J. P. Moore and Nannie Overshine (Overshown) Moore who died 11 September 1923 from the birth of twin girls born on 20 August 1923; Loreda Moore died July 1923; Lorena is still living. No children were born to the union of Alice Taylor and J. P. Moore. While I was only 8 years old in 1959, Grandma Alice as we called her, was very good to us. She could make the best home made biscuits that I have ever tasted and you could only eat one because they were so big! There was always pears, plums and pecans for us when we came from Houston to visit. Those are times to remember.
