Irene Blanton of Jacksfork Community, Rockholds, Ky. departed this life Friday afternoon, June 26, 2009, at Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, Ky.
She was born November 4, 1915 in Whitley County, Ky. to the late John Davis and Hester Moses Davis.
She was 93 years, 7 months and 22 days of age.
She was united in marriage to Leonard T. Blanton on August 25, 1934.
He preceded her in death on March 17, 1998.
She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Gary Lee Blanton;
two sisters, Delia Davis and Frances Saylor;
four brothers, Arnold Davis, Albert Davis, Silas Davis and Elmer Davis; three special nephews, Arnold C. Davis, Elmer W. Davis and Jack Gabbard.
She was a member of Rockholds Baptist Church and a life long member of Rebecca Lodge No. 32.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Lynn Hendrickson and husband Ralph of Corbin, Ky.; three sons, Wayne Bruce Blanton of Marietta, Ga., David Neal Blanton of Rockholds, Ky. and Roger Dale Blanton and wife Luana of Oliver Springs, Tenn.;
granddaughters, Peggy Lemaster, Shirley Campbell (Doyle), Allison Tucker and Sherly Priest;
grandsons, Gary Hendrickson (Becky), Jared Blanton, Roger Coleman Blanton and Andrew Tipton Blanton;
great-granddaughters, Katelynn Cecil, Tonya Hilburn, Shonda Mathison and Tamra Campbell;
great grandsons, Brian Priest, Blaine Moyers, Kevin Hendrickson, Mart Hendrickson and Gary Hendrickson II;
