Arthur David Doublin, son of William Jasper and Iva Pearl Jones Doublin, was born November 14, 1937, in Dry Knob, Missouri and departed this life January 11, 2013, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years.
On July 31, 1959, David, as he was known to family and friends, was united in marriage with Lois Evelyn Starnes and to this union was born three children, Evely Marlene, David Wade, and Melissa Kelly.
David professed his faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, with Pastor Milan Ruble, at his brother Jr. Doublin's house on Pierce Street in Lebanon, Missouri. David is a long time member of the Second Freewill Baptist Church in Lebanon.
David served in the United States Army from 1956 until 1959.
He had a love for music and played the guitar until arthritis in his hands kept him from playing. He emjoyed getting together at his brothers' and sisters' houses to play music and sing.
On November 23, 1979, he married Pauline Anglen, to which he became step-father to Howard, Jackie, Viola, Vickie, and Betty.
He is survived by his wife Pauline; one son, Wade Doublin and his wife Deloris of Lebanon, MO; two daughters, Marlene Scull and her husband Randy of Fort Madison, IA and Melissa Doyle and her husband Don of Aberdeen, MD; two step-sons, Howard Anglen and his wife Cindy of Long Lane, MO, and Jackie Anglen of Lebanon, MO; three step-daughters, Viola Blankenship, Vickie Wilson and her husband Lonnie, and Betty Waters and her husband David, all of Lebanon, MO; one brother, Paul Doublin and his wife Linda, of Lebanon, MO; two brothers-in-law, Sammy Dismang and his wife Patsy of Lebanon, MO and Doyle Dismang and his wife Lorna of Pleasant Hope, MO; twenty grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; his faithful K-9 companion, Rocky; other relatives and many friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Pearl Doublin; two brothers, Jr., and Herbert Doublin; eight sisters, Agnes Armstrong, Audrey Anthony, Ollie Fulkerson, Faye Wright, Bonnie Lawson, Peggy Ruth Doublin, Jenny Smart, and Margaret Boggs.
