William S Brown, 88 of West Lafayette, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at the Coshocton Hospital. He was born in Lash, Pennsylvania, on December 6, 1921, the son of the late Hugh C and Blanche (Luke) Brown. Bill attended school in West Lafayette and then served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945 in European and Africa theatre of operations. Bill was employed for over 40 years at Jones Metal Products in West Lafayette. He was a member of the West Lafayette United Methodist Church, and was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was married to Edna Mae (Johnson) Brown, who preceded him in death on May 16, 2003.
Surviving are his two sons, Don (Jayne) Brown of Coshocton, and Robert (Judy) Brown of Kent, Ohio; three grandchildren, Matthew Brown, Alicia (Jordan) Hood, Kristen Holskey; and two step-grandchildren, Ryan Border and Jennifer Bheam; three great grandchildren; Marilyn, Brenda, and Logan; and one step great grandchild, Logan; and his sister, Virginia Zinkon of Baltic, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel and sister, Doris.
A funeral service will be held in Given Dawson Funeral Home, 419 E Main St, West Lafayette, Ohio, on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at 11:00 with Rev Sue Chidley officiating. Burial will follow in Fairfield Cemetery in West Lafayette, where the Coshocton Co Veterans Council will conduct graveside services. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, from 6-8 pm.
