Ida Louise Luce Holl Louise was born October 14, 1921 to Caroline Lucille and Milton B. Luce at Hays, Kansas. She passed away peacefully on April 5, 2004. As a child her family moved to Collyer, Kansas, where she attended grade and high school. She graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1942 with a degree in Business Administration. After graduation, she was employed as the accountant for the university. On March 8, 1944, she and Alfred Holl were married just before he left to fly bombing missions over Germany. Upon his return, they lived in Hays and Topeka, Kansas until he finished his law degree. In 1950, they moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma for 20 years. After two and a half years in Atlanta, Georgia they came to Oklahoma City and have lived here since that time. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Al, and 2 daughters, Carol Ann Lang of Bethany, and Barbara Painter and husband Randy of Muskogee; 2 grandsons, Christopher Lang and wife Tiffany of Agoura Hills, CA, Patrick Painter and wife Jennifer of Benton, MO; 1 granddaughter, Jennifer Honn and husband Jesse of Tulsa and a great grandson, Ethan Christopher Lang. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Brown of Norton, Kansas. Mrs. Holl was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. Without equal, Louise was a kind, generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, respected and loved by her family and friends. She was active in her church, serving as a founding elder of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Bartlesville. She was a Girl Scout leader from Brownies to Seniors, was a wonderful homemaker, an excellent seamstress and culinary expert, a member of PEO Chapter, EW and active in book and bridge clubs. She was a DAR, her Luce ancestors having fought in the Revolutionary War. Louise was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church for many years. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 8, 2004 at Rose Hill Burial Park. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Holl will be in state on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, it was her request that donations be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10100 Ridgeview Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73120.
