Georgiana followed her husband to America in 1912 at the age of 30 years with their young children (Nina) Mary 4, William 3 and Ida 1. They left Coalisland and departed Londonderry, Ireland aboard the ship S.S.California on April 6, 1912 and arrived at Ellis Island, New York on April 15, 1912. The manifest also lists Georgiana's last residence as with an Uncle Mark Brooks of Ballnacally Coalisland.
Georgiana traveled to America with her sister Matilda Brooks and a young nephew, Thomas Murphy, mistakenly identified as Thomas White on the ship's manifest. Thomas White is the son of another sister, Martha Brooks Murphy. One additional traveler of note, named John "Jack" Spence, from 28 Sunnyside St, Belfast, was traveling to visit a friend, William White, and eventually became a border in the White household and worked on the family dairy farm, Maple Leaf Dairy.
Georgiana was active in the Methodist Church in Pocatello, Idaho.
Historical note:
S.S.California traversed the Atlantic four days ahead of the RMS Titanic, arriving at Ellis Island, New York on April 15, 1912. The RMS Titanic departed Southampton, England on April 10, 1912, struck an iceberg on April 14th approximately 400 miles from Newfoundland, Canada and sank in the early hours of April 15th.
