Eunice "Jimmy" was born into a large farming family in the Center Point community of Pritchett, Tx. They were a close knit Christian family who loved to sing. His mother, Nora Ellen, who was from the Morgan family of West Mountain nearby, who were well-known gospel singers in the area. "Roe" Morgan ran a singing school and taught the Stamps brothers (of the Stamps Quartet) to sing in their early years.
Jimmy's brothers and sisters were Loyce, who died at 2 years, Leroy, Raymond, Anna Lou, Maxie Ellen, Doris, Ocie, Myrtice and S.J.
Eunice served in the US Navy during WW2 along with his brothers, Ocie and S.J. and a nephew, Johny Carl Landers, son of their brother, Leroy.
Eunice married Mildred Leona Vaughan and were blessed with 2 sons:
Jimmy Earl Landers b. 4/25/1947 Houston, Harris Co. Tx
Wendell Lee Landers b. 2/24/1959 Houston, Harris Co. Tx.
