Services for Ross Howard Griffin were held Wednesday, September 4, 1991 at White Oak Pond Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Gil Grounds and Rev. Kelly Pryor officiating. Prelude was by Joyce Massey. Music was by The Cook Family. Burial was in the White Oak Pond Cemetery. Serving as escorts were Aiva Pruitt, Marty Griffin, Jerry Humphery, Bruce Hawkins, Enos Hawkins and James Piercey. services were conducted by The Pickering Family.
Ross Howard Griffin, son of Fred and Ola Scott Griffin, was born October 8, 1918 in Laclede County and died September 2, 1991 at his home. At the time of his death, he was 72 years of age.
On March 2, 1940 he was united in marriage to Beulah McClanahan at the Laclede County Courthouse by William Kerr. To this union four children were born, Max Howard, Megetta Wyant, Rex Ellis and Paul Ross.
Ross was a farmer all of his life. He enjoyed taking care of the livestock, raising cattle and hogs. He joined White Oak Pond Church in 1955 and attended all of his life. He was saved by Brother Alexander during a revival.
Ross was always interested in his children and grandchildren's future. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ross is survived by his wife, Beulah; one daughter, Megetta Wyant; three sons, Max, Rex and Paul; one sister, Dorothy Hawkins, all of Lebanon; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.
