Rev. Jesse Mercer Green was born in Georgia the son of William Washington Green and Hannah Elvira Dover Green. He was one of 15 children born to them. Jesse was married first to Cynthia P. Dean on Dec. 12, 1852, 2nd to Frances Isham and they had 8 children (five boys & 3 girls). 3rd to Sallie Ruth Ward and they had 4 sons. 4th to Mary C Leach (no children), and finally at the age of 75 years he married 5th to Martha Ann Sharp Chote.
