Lester Roy Beard, 88, of Scottsboro, passed away Friday, March 6, 2009, at his residence.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 8, from Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Burgess Cemetery.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Jerry Carter of Paint Rock; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Jean Beard of Dutton, Donald and Sheila Beard of Fayetteville, Tenn. and Luther and Janie Beard of Scottsboro. Step children, Sherrell Frederick and Hubert Campbell; sisters, Eunice Phillips of Hollywood, Ethel Brannon of Atlanta, Ga. and Jane Phillips of Fackler; brothers, Elbert Beaird of Scottsboro, Wayne Beaird of Henagar and Arthur Beard of Scottsboro.
