ALMA SUSANNA WAHRMUND MEINSCHER
Alma S. Meinscher, 103, widow of the late August C. Meinscher, Sr., died Wednesday, May 1, 1991, following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Fredericksburg, Texas on June 5, 1887, a daughter of Max Wahrmund and Sophie Weyrich Wahrmund; and at the time of her death, was the oldest living member of St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church where she had been a member since 1925.
She was married to August C. Meinscher, Sr. on August 7, 1907, at the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, Texas, where she was also a member of Damen Choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1959; a daughter, Paula A. Green in February 1988; a son, CMSgt Fritz Max Meinscher (USAF Ret.) on April 18, 1991; by one sister, Erna Loving; and four brothers; Arno, Egon, Kurt and Max.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, A.C. Jr. and Virginia Andrews Meinscher of Cedar Park; two daughters, Laura V. Bergstrom of Austin, Violette L. Murphy of San Antonio; a daughter-in-law, Betty J. Hanna (Mrs. Fritz M. ) Meinscher of Austin; a son-in-law, Garland O. Green of Austin; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, Barry James Plessala, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews; and a cousin Ralph Gassman of Austin.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. , Saturday at St. Martin's Ev. Lutheran Church, with Pastor Carl H. Schoss officiating. Interment will be in Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Murphy, Brent Catterton, Charles Bergstrom, Dennis Meinscher, Bill Estes, and Robert Walls.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Endowment fund at St. Martin's Ev. Lutheran Church, 606 W. 15th St., Austin, TX 78701.
