John Thomas Barger (1870-1945) and Annie C. Barger (1870-1937) were first cousins. His father, George Washington Barger (1841-1920), was a younger brother of Annie's father, Jacob Roger Barger (1829-1903).
Mrs. J. T. Barger, 67, well known throughout Sullivan County, died at her home near Indian Springs at 1:10 o'clock yesterday morning after an illness of several months. She was the former Ann Charlotte Barger, daughter of the late Jacob Barger and Emma Wolford Barger, prominent Sullivan County residents. She was born near Indian Springs and had spent her entire life in Sullivan County. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and had taken an active part in its program. Mrs. Barger is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. A. H. Huddle, a grandson, John Roy Holt of Indian Springs, and two brothers, H. T. Barger of Indian Springs and J. W. Barger of Blountville. Brief funeral services will be held at the home at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, followed by services at the Cassidy Methodist Church at Indian Springs. The Rev. W. D. Wise, the Rev. L. M. Burris and the Rev. Dan H. Graham will be in charge of the services. Interment will be made in the Cox Cemetery. Pallbearers: H. H. Shipley, J. E. Harr, D. H. Fleenor, J. S.
