William Frank Booth, 79, passed away on December 9, 2009 at Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring with N. E. FL. Community Hospice. Mr. Booth was born on August 19, 1930. Frank graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. He was proud to have served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was stationed on Enewetok Island when they fired off the 1st hydrogen bomb. Mr. Booth was a member of the old Duval County Road Patrol and subsequently retired as a lieutenant with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. He was an avid pilot and a long time flight instructor. Mr. Booth is survived by 3 daughters, Carol Idleman (Dwaine), Phyllis Godwin (Harry), and Debi Malone (Steve), all of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren; and his wife of 40 years, Janet. He was a Past President of the Florida Tackle and Gun Club, a member of FOP 5-30, the Elks Lodge, AOPA, Knights of Columbus and San Jose Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Monday, December 14, 2009 at San Jose Catholic Church, 3619 Toledo Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32217. In lieu of flowers, Frank would be pleased with donations to N. E. Florida Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257 or San Jose Catholic Church Building Fund. Arrangements are under the care of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd.
