Born in Turterebes, Hungary (Today Turulung, Romania), he came to the United States in 1924 and lived in North Ridgeville since then.
He was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include a daughter, JoAnn Sherlock, of Columbus; a son, Michael Darby of Lorain; sisters, Rose Nagy and Julia Koler, both of Elyria, and Margaret Mihuta, of Lorain; a brother, George Daraby of Elyria; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Jean Marinkovic, in 1985.
There will be no visitation.
Family graveside services will be conducted at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to the hospice program of St. Joseph Hospital & Health Center of Lorain or the American Cancer Society.
