Final Rites For
John T. Morgan
Friday, December 3
Final tribute will be paid Staff Sergeant John t. Morgan, 24, Friday, December 3 at four p.m. at the graveside at Fairfax cemetery. the remains will arrive here from overseas. Sergeant Morgan having paid the supreme sacrifice for his country in Easter Italy February 16, 1945. The Rev. J. W. Chambers, pastor of the Fairfax Church of the Nazarene will conduct the rites.
Pallbearers will be Herbert Miles, Evan Zeiger, Bill Bullard, Eddie Combs, Ralph Freeman, Paul Dickson, Eugen Blakely and Herschel Brown. Johnson and Company are in charge of arrangements.
Sergeant Morgan was born in Cedaertown. He was a member of the Valley Motorcycle Club and Chambers County Legion Post No. 67. He served in the Army air Force and was awarded the Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart. He had lived in the Valley nearly all his life and attended school in Fairfax. He died in a place crash.
His mother and father Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Morgan of River View, survive, also a daughter, Linda, of Fayetteville, Ark; two sisters, Margaret and Mary Ann or River View; and a brother Wayne, of River View.
