Hazel M. Pearson, 91, of Kansas City, Kan., died December 22, 1999, at her home. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 27, 1999, at Maple Hill Chapel; burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Pearson was born in Norborne, MO, and had lived most of her life in the Kansas City area. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Olathe. Hazel was very proud that she had perfect attendance at Sunday church services for 45 consecutive years and recived a pin with a bar for each year of perfect attendance. She was a member of the Eastern Star, White Shrine, and a senior citizens volunteer group. Hazel also made thousands of pot holders and donated them to her church, Ronald McDonald House, and many other area organizations for their own use and for many fund raising events. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaylord R. "Jim" Pearson Sr. and a son Gaylord R. "Jim" Pearson Jr. Survivors include two sons, Robert T. Pearson and David E. Pearson; two sisters, Willene O'Dell and Marjorie Smith; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
