She peacefully passed away on January 18, 2008 and waltzed like a petal on the breeze to be with her husband, Gabriel and granddaughter, Kathy. Born April 12, 1914 in Onaka, South Dakota, she was the second oldest of 14 children.

"Note: Eva's parents had 15 children of which she was the third child. Their first child, Adam Gisi was born & died in May 1912 in Ipswich, living only 5 days. He was buried in St. John The Baptist Cemetery, Lot #17 in Onaka, Faulk County, South Dakota."

In 1937, she married Gabriel Ganje and devoted her life to raising her family. After retiring, Eva and Gabe moved from Rapid City, SD to Gig Harbor, WA. Eva was a kind and loving sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who had a passion for sewing, dancing, baking and gardening. In springtime, her yard was a magnificent collection of blooms to include 92 beautiful rose bushes. She will be remembered for the joy she brought to our lives.

She is survived by her children; Dan Ganje (LaDonna), Claire Madden, Nikki Johnston, Arnold Ganje (Evon) and Charles Ganje (Susan), 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 11:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Interment at Haven of Rest. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Charles Borromeo School Fund.
