From Memorial and Biographical History of McLennan, Falls, Bell & Coryell Counties
Had a family of 13 children. All were reared in TX. He died in Limestone County. He served in Houston's Army in his contest with Mexico. In 1836 he settled in Walker county, where he built the first cotton gin in the county. Six of his sons served in the Civil War and 2 died from disease and exposure.
