Tennessee, USA

Julina Isabella Blythe Springer Belew was the wife of (1) Samuel Byron Springer whom she married 05 Sep 1860 in Lawrence Co., Tennesee and (2) William James Belew. Julina and William James Belew were married 30 Nov 1865 in Lawrence Co., Tennessee in the final year of the American Civil War.

Julina's first husband, Sam Springer, was killed in 1862 during the second year of that devastating war. The family legend goes that Mr. Springer extracted a promise from William Belew that should he die in the war and Mr. Belew survived; William James would take care of his family. William survived and fulfilled his promise.
