Funeral services for Amelia Jones, 80, who died Dec. 29, 2011, will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Crowley.
Father Jarred Suire will officiate and interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
On Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, Amelia Jones entered into eternal rest when the sunset and God called her home.
Amelia was born to the late Alex Albert Sr. and Effie Mae Thibo on April 24, 1931 in Duson. She was a faithful member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and a member of Knights of St. Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court 51. During her lifetime, she touched the lives of many people.
Amelia leaves to cherish her memories five sons, James Jones (Mary H.) of Peoria, Ill., Albert Jones (Archie) of Crowley, Wilfred Jones Sr. (Helen) of Lafayette, Adolph Jones III (Lellian) of Opelousas and Curtis R. Jones (Servernia) of Pineville; one daughter, Yvonne M. Krout (Chris) of Dallas, Texas; six sisters, Katherine Lemon, Lucinda Lyson, Alfreda Williams, Martha Robinson, Marie Mouton and Shirley Robinson of Crowley; three brothers, James Thibo (Carol) of Lafayette, Percy Robinson and Andrew Robinson of Crowley; 22 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Katherine M. Thibo; and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Effie Thibo; her husband, Adolph Jones Jr.; one son, Gregory J. Joseph; two brothers, Alex Thibo Jr. and Clifton Thibo; two sisters, Mary Clipps and Geneva Guillory; and her step-mother, Vergina Thibo.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Bias, Wallace Jones, Terry Foreman, Greginald Jones, Kevin Jones and Tareyton Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be James Jones, Albert Jones, Wilfred Jones Sr., Adolph Jones III and Curtis R. Jones.
