His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 13, 2012, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 12, 2012, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Special Olympics or the American Lung Association.
Wallace Legard Barker was born May 16, 1963, in Bloomington, son of Charles and Marianne Lehmann Barker. He married Jamie Annette Rice on May 7, 1983, in Normal. She survives in Bloomington.
Also surviving are his mother, Marianne Doyle, Carrollton, Texas, and his father, Charles (Shirley) Barker, Normal. He was the proud father of three children, Christopher Wesley Barker, Katie Annette Lawson and Cory Wallace Barker, all of Bloomington. He had one grandson, Caleb James Lawson, Bloomington; one brother, Bruce (Debbie) Barker, Bloomington; two sisters, Martha (Jonathan) Ligon, Addison, and Christi (Ron) Klein, Normal; one stepsister, Kristi Veitengruber, Stanford; and one stepbrother, Kevin Roseman, Normal.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Vicky M. Leonard.
Wally was the owner of Wally's Collision and a former employee of Century Chevrolet.
He supported many charities including, Special Olympics and the Redbird Booster Club. He also donated to numerous benefits, whenever asked.
Wally was a successful businessman who didn't always let money rule his willingness to help others.
His passions included fast cars, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, family and friends and his dog, Tucker.
He was known by many and loved by all.
