New Jersey, USA
|Death: ||Feb. 23, 2001|
Known as Manny.
Manny was a husband and father. Along with his wife Marilyn, they reared four children in their home on Preston Rd. in Media, Pa.
Manny worked for Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) for thirty plus years before he retired as Vice President of Auditing. He was a 1956 graduate of Temple University where he met his wife. He also possessed two Master's Degrees.
Manny was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ and it was very important to him to live in the suburbs and give his children experiences which he did not have growing up. Manny loved taking his family on camping trips and together they camped (in a tent) in every state from Maine to Florida a few times and several trips to Canada too. He also provided his family with a second home in Cape May, NJ where they continue to spend many summers and off season times together and with their growing families.
While Manny almost completely lost his north Jersey accent, we would still tease him by saying, "You can take the boy out of Jersey City, but you can't take Jersey City out of the boy", and he had so many sayings and expressions from his boyhood in Jersey City that we should write a book.
Manny is survived by his wife and four children. He also has six grandchildren.
Manny was born in Jersey City, NJ to Manuel and Rose (Frank) Cabrera in 1934. He is also survived by a sister, Joann.
Rest in Peace Daddy.
