Benjamin Rice Brigham was the son of Asa and Elizabeth Brigham. He was mortally wounded during the battle of San Jacinto and died the night of April 22, 1836. He and seven other men who died during the battle were laid to rest on the battlefield in the area that they had camped in on April 20th.
