Celesta Barnes, 87, Edwardsport, died at 2:03 a.m. Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospital. Born June 5, 1899, in Westphalia, she was the daughter of Thomas and Orpha (Allen) Dyer. She married Reason Barnes April 24, 1926. He died Sept. 2, 1971.
She was a member of the Edwardsport United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph Barnes and Kenneth Barnes, both of Edwardsport; one daughter, Mrs. James (Virginia) Wineinger of Bicknell; a brother, Carl Dyer of Edwardsport; four sisters, Rachel Harper of Plainville, Dorothy Pepmeier of Bicknell, Leona Harper of Westphalia and Martha Pemmeier of Freelandville; five grandchildren. A brother and sister are deceased.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McClure Funeral Home in Bicknell. The Rev. Eugene Parker and Rev. Ray Dyer will officiate. Burial will be in Edwardsport Town Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6.
