Martha L. (Quillet) Longstreth, 79, of Beaverton, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999 at Tender Care Nursing Home in Midland after a long illness. Born Nov. 15, 1919 in Detroit, she lived in Gladwin County since 1940 and previously lived in Detroit. She was a homemaker. Martha married Harlan Quillet, April 27, 1941 in Beaverton. He preceded her in death Jan. 6, 1961. She then married Harry Longstreth, April 6, 1963 in Beaverton. He preceded her in death Feb. 12, 1981. She was a member of the Dale United Methodist Church in Beaverton, and the Dale United Methodist Ladies Aid.
She was also past president of MidMichigan Travel Club; past president of Gladwin County Ladies Farm Bureau; past president of the Home Extension Club; and a past member of the Gladwin County Fair Board.
Surviving are one daughter, Ruth Ann and husband James Walters of Beaverton; one son, Harley and wife Lorna Quillet of Beaverton; one granddaughter, Jennifer and husband Methvin Ward of Midland; one great-granddaughter; one great-grandson; four step-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and two step great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Mark Quillet, July 14, 1984.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel with Rev. David Stewart officiating. Burial was in Tobacco Township (Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton.
