JOHNSONVILLE| Carroll Barnhill, 77, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, in a Florence nursing center.
He was born in Gresham, a son of the late Ole Evan and Agnes Cribb Barnhill.
He was a retired HVAC technician with Wellman Industries, a member of the Merchant Marines during World War II, from 1941-45, and a member of the Johnsonville First Baptist Church, where he held several positions in the church. He was an avid fisherman and a graduate of Johnsonville High School, class of 1967.
Survivors include his wife, Myrna Jordan Barnhill of the home; a son, Kenneth Barnhill and his wife, Sherry, of Johnsonville; daughters, Miriam Johnson and her husband, Bobby, of Johnsonville and Denise Derrick and her husband, Norman, of Columbia; six grandchildren; siblings, Alda Jordan, Lonita Spivey, Louise Smoak, Charlotte Cherry, Hazel Adams and Stanley Barnhill.
He was predeceased by Irene Richardson, Lora Richardson, Thelma Jordan, Margie Skipper, Virginia Jordan, Miriam Barnhill, O.E. Barnhill and the Rev. Gilbert Barnhill.
