Reatha was born April 12, 1920 near Gage, Okla. to Oscar Winchester and Eunice Flock Winchester. She died Wednesday, January 17, 2001.
She moved with her family to Waukomis, graduating from Waukomis High School in 1938. During these years, she was an active member of the Garfield County 4-H Club.
She attended Oklahoma A&M University, graduating in 1945, where she met her future husband, Delbert Ralph Goggin of Wellston. They married on August 15, 1942 at the First Methodist Church in Stillwater.
Reatha taught school in Crescent from 1946 to 1950 and in Enid from 1962 to 1985, at which time she retired. As a kindergarten teacher, she was named "Teacher of the Year" in 1977.
Reatha was a member of the First United Methodist Church for nearly 50 years. She also was a member of Beta Sigma Phi social sorority, Daughters of the American Revolution, OSU Alumni Association, Delta Kappa Gamma teachers' sorority and the Enid YWCA.
She is survived by her husband, Delbert; son Terry Goggin, daughter-in-law Sylvia Busby Goggin and grandsons Winchester and Daniel, all of Dunwoody, Ga.; two daughters, Mary Woods of Plano, Texas and Kay Goggin of Dallas; a brother, Dwight Winchester of Bozeman, Mon.; many nieces and nephews; and two goddaughters, Mary Lentz of Enid and Reatha Marlatt of Ames.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Delbert, Burl and Emerald Winchester.
In lieu of other remembrances, the family requests memorials be made through the funeral home to Circle of Love Hospice, First United Methodist Church of Enid or Oklahoma Medical Research - Cancer Division.
