Birth: Oct. 22, 1889
Talladega County
Alabama, USA
Death: Nov. 19, 1974
Hogansville
Troup County
Georgia, USA

Will added an "e" to his last name. Married by a Mr. Henderson. He left home at the age of 13 and began a lifelong career of laboring in the Cotton Mills in Sylacauga, Shamut (now Valley) and other towns in Alabama and the towns of La Grange, and Hogansville, Georgia. By the time his daughter, Mary Lee had turned 17, he had relocated to Hogansville, Georgia where he remained for nearly all the rest of his life. Following the death of his wife in 1964, Will began traveling and visiting family members until his death in 1974. He was a rather quiet, personal man and his daughter, Mary Lee, told me he never whipped his children nor raised his voice in anger. Will was about 5' 9" tall and somewhat fair skinned. Will was living in Rock Mills, Randolph County, Alabama near his future wife, during the census of 1910 and shown as a boarder in the home of Henry and Mary Lowe. His last name was spelled Crowe during this census. The census of 1920 finds him in La Grange, Troup County, Georgia with his wife and three eldest children. At this time his last name was spelled without an "e". During 1930 the family were in Shamut (now Valley), Alabama and again Will's last name did not contain an "E".

Will registered for the World War I draft at La Grange, Georgia on 6-5-1917. He reported that he was living at 29 Stonewall Street in La Grange, was married with two children, was employed at the cotton mill, had been born in Talladega County, Alabama, was of medium built and height, with Grey eyes and light brown hair.
