Mrs. Emma Bennett, 84, died at 3:05 a.m. Sunday at the Hallsville Nursing Home. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Herington Funeral Home with the Rev. B.E. Junkins officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday. She was born September 19, 1876, daughter of Alexander and Elvery Roby Bird. She was married to Emanuel J. Bennett October 9, 1895 at Clinton. He preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Grace Wantland, Clinton; a son, Minor C. Bennett, Lane; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A son, seven brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. She was a member of the Christian Church at Lane.
