DEATH OF THOS. CANTRALL
On Thursday afternoon, June 7, 1917, Thomas J.
Cantrall was buried, the services being held from the
Methodist Church in Cedarville, re. Arthur Chalfant
was officiating. Undertakers Randall & Jackson, of
Alturas being in charge, in the absence of Undertaker
McCloud. Thomas J. Cantrall was born April 26, 1848,
and died June 4, 1917, being years old. He came to
California in 1870 and on May 27, 1891, he was united
in marriage to Mrs. Hattie Morgan. To them were born
six children, Harry, Elmer, William, John, Martha and
Ruth, who with the widow and three brothers and on
sister are left to mourn his loss. He had been in ill
health for some time, and it was found necessary to
send him below for treatment a couple of months ago,
but to no avail. He was for many years a resident of
this valley and was well and favorably known by a
large number of people, who regret to hear of his
death.
