Il barone Marcel Bich č stato un imprenditore italiano naturalizzato francese. Originario di una nobile famiglia valdostana, (Châtillon, Valle d'Aosta) trasferitasi dapprima a Torino e poi in Francia, divenne famoso per aver modificato e diffuso la penna a sfera, comprandone verso gli anni '50, il brevetto al suo inventore ungherese László József Bíró. Quando Bich acquistň il brevetto, trattavasi di poco piů che un progetto, in quanto non era stata ancora creata la tecnologia per l'affinamento del prodotto e la sua produzione, che fu da egli avviata con tecnologia automatizzata svizzera di alta precisione. Nel 1953, fondň la Société Bic e il prodotto venne diffuso in tutto il mondo con tale nome, ricavato togliendo l'acca al suo cognome. La penna, cosě detta "a sfera", risolse molti dei problemi della scrittura tradizionale, come ad esempio quello delle macchie d'inchiostro lasciate dalle penne stilografiche. Bich fu uno dei primi grandi industriali a creare oggetti di largo consumo, prodotti con la filosofia dell'usa e getta. La sua capacitŕ imprenditoriale si rivelň vincente infatti, anche nella produzione di altri oggetti di uso comune, come accendini, rasoi, calze e collant. Si occupň anche di windsurf e barche a vela. Partecipň alla Coppa America, con la propria vela, denominata "France", senza purtroppo mai riuscire a coronare il proprio sogno di vittoria. Il titolo di Barone, risale al 1848 al Duca Carlo Alberto di Savoia. Oggi in tutto il mondo, ogni giorno, milioni di persone usano le sue pratiche, straordinarie, economiche invenzioni.

Baron Marcel Bich was a naturalized French Italian businessman. He came from a noble family of Aosta Valley, (Châtillon, Aosta Valley) moved initially to Turin and then to France, became famous for having edited and published the ballpoint pen, buying into the 50s, the patent to its inventor, the Hungarian László József Bíró. When Bich bought the patent, was a question of little more than a project, as it had not yet created the technology for the refining of the product and its production, which was initiated by him with automated technology of Swiss precision. In 1953, he founded the Société Bic and the product was released around the world with that name, obtained by turning off the 'h his surname. The pen, so called "ballpoint", solved many of the problems of the traditional text, such as that of the ink spots left by the fountain pens. Bich was one of the first large industrial to create objects of large use products, with the philosophy of disposability. His entrepreneurial skills paid off because, even in the production of other everyday objects, such as lighters, razors, socks and tights. Also dealt with windsurfing and sailing boats. He participated in the America's Cup, with their wing, known as "France", unfortunately without ever being able to crown his dream of victory. The title of Baron, dates back to 1848 to Duke Charles Albert of Savoy. Today, all over the world every day, millions of people use its practices, extraordinary, economic inventions.
