WORLD WAR II VETERAN, U.S. ARMY


Lloyd H. Overmyer, 86, of Monterey, IN, passed away at 6:06 PM Saturday, September 17, 2011 at in his son Tim's residence in Monterey, IN.

He was born March 5, 1925, in Monterey, IN, to Frank and Grace Warmbrod Overmyer. Lloyd was married on September 29, 1957, in Young America, IN, to Jean Griffin. She passed away on August 7, 1998.

He was a lifetime resident of Monterey and was a graduate of Monterey High School in 1943.

Lloyd served in the US Army in Germany during WWII.

He was Indiana State Rural Youth President in 1955. He was a 4-H leader for over 40 years.

He was also a member of the Board of Director's of the Fulton County REMC for 15 years. Lloyd also served as a member of the Board of Director's of the Pulaski County Farm Bureau Co-op for 25 years and served on the Farm Bureau Inc. Board.

Lloyd was a former Tippecanoe Twp. Precinct Committeeman for the Pulaski County Republican Party for many years.

He spent most of his life as a farmer and retired from the Pulaski County Highway Department after 20 years.

Lloyd was a member of the Ora Gospel Chapel where he taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Pulaski County Gideon Camp.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM EDT Thursday, September 22, 2011, in Frain Mortuary, Winamac, with Bill Huffman officiating.

Burial will take place in the Riverside Memorial Cemetery, Monterey, IN.

Friends may call 3-8 EDT Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Frain Mortuary.

Memorial Contributions may be given to the Gideon's.

Military graveside Services will be conducted.
