Mrs. D. C. Eldridge.

Ellen V. Edder (sic) was born in Henry county (sic), Ill., May 11, 1845, and died at her home in Wayne, Kans., March 28, 1918, at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 17 days. She was married to Daniel C. Eldridge September 1, 1863, at Berlin, Wisconsin. To this union were born three children, Frank D. Eldredge (sic) of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Ed. Ekstrom of Wayne, Mrs. M. J. Shepard of Kingman, Kans. A loving husband and grandchildren and great grandchildren are left, to mourn their loss. She was a faithful member of the Methodist church, uniting in her youth, a loving wife and mother, kind neighbor and faithful to her friends. She bore her suffering with christian fortitude to the end.

Dearest mother thou hast left us,
and thy chair no one can fill;
But our Lord who hast bereft us,
all our sorrow he can heal.
