Aged and Beloved Woman of Eufaula Passes Away
Eufaula, Feb 1 - (Special.) - Mrs. Cynthia A. Barefield one of the oldest residents of the city died at her home here last night after a long illness.
She was born in North Georgia and moved to this city over sixty years ago where she has since resided. She was seventy-seven years old and was the widow of John Barefield a well known veteran of the war.
Mrs. Barefield was a life long member of the Methodist church and was widely known throughout this and other sections and had a large circle of warm friends.
She is survived by two sons, J.W. Barefield who resides in Memphis Tenn. and C.D. Barefield a resident of this city, besides some grand children and a sister Mrs. Newsome of Columbus Ga., and a brother, George Vaughn of Eufaula.
The funeral took place this afternoon from her late residence and her remains were intered in Fair View Cemetery. Rev. J.E. McCann conducted the funeral exercises.
