It's located just off Highway #58 on the Henry County, VA. border and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Thomas was a son of James Francis Penn and Catherine Leath and grandson of Abram Penn.
Thomas married his cousin Catherine and their grandson also named Thomas Jefferson Penn built Chinqua-Penn House near Reidsville, in Rockingham County, North Carolina.
Thomas was a cousin to Greenville Penn, b.1779 and married one of his daughters.
Thomas owned a tobacco company first called Penn & Critz that became T.J. Penn and Company.
He also had a dry goods store.
Sometime in the 1880s he had to move to Danville, Va. for business reasons.
