Vera Dorris, 84, of Rector died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, in Rector.

She was born March 9, l917, in Marmaduke to the late Charles are Arpie Reynolds. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Parrish Dorris; one brother, William Reynolds, and two sisters, Gladys Yancey and Eithel Nelson.

Survivors include one son, Gaylon Dorris of Rector; two grandchildren and their spouses, Dena and Amos Green of Malden and Tammy and Dale Johnson of Piggott, and six great-grandchildren, Daniel Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Kalon Johnson, all of Piggott, and Amanda Green, Derek Green and Jade Green, all of Malden.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Jimmy Parrish officiating. Burial was in Purcell Cemetery with Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers were Dale Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Amos Green, Carroll Yancey, Daniel Johnson and Loyd Yancey. Honorary pallbearers were Kalon Johnson and Derek Green.
